Man City star Jack Grealish gets unexpected FIFA 22 stat upgrade

Manchester City star Jack Grealish has received an unexpected upgrade to one of his in-game stats in FIFA 22 as part of the latest squad update in FIFA 22.

Grealish has enjoyed a positive start to his career at Man City after his £100m move to Pep Guardiola’s side from Aston Villa in the summer, with the winger grabbing four-goal contributions in his first 10 appearances at City.

Attacking output wise, he hasn’t had the most incredible season so far, but under Guardiola, you need to do more than just score goals and assist as a winger, and his improvement in other departments has been noticed by FIFA as he’s earned a big upgrade to one of his in-game stats.

The FIFA 22 squad updates were released along with the second major update of FIFA 22 since its release, which included some gameplay updates too.

The squad update is available to download now on all platforms including PC, Xbox and PlayStation.

So, what stat did Jack Grealish receive an upgrade in? Let’s take a look.

Potentially due to his ability to track back, defend and hold the ball, Grealish has received a big upgrade in his overall strength in FIFA 22, rising from 61 to 70 out of 99.

In terms of upgrades from squad updates, a +9 increase is a large improvement, showing how much EA have judged the 26-year-old to have improved over his first few months in Manchester.

Compared to his Man City teammates, 70 strenth put’s Grealish ahead of Gabriel Jesus (69), Raheem Sterling (64), Oleksandr Zinchenko (63), Joao Cancelo (62, Riyad Mahrez (57), Bernardo Silva (52) and Phil Foden (44), although the latter should also be due a strength upgrade soon, with 44 extremely underwhelming for Foden.

And compared to other players in the Premier League who can play in his position, Grealish has a better strength stat than Jadon Sancho (68), Allan Saint-Maximin (66), Timo Werner (65), Heung-Min Son (64) and Leon Bailey (61).

No other player in the Man City squad had any in-game stats changed despite their strong start to the season, whilst bitter rivals Manchester United received a handful of downgrades to their squad, including a surprising downgrade to Cristiano Ronaldo.
