Won bronze at the Olympics
Serie A side Genoa CFC have signed Johan Vásquez. The 22-year-old joins the club on a one-year loan from Liga MX side UNAM Pumas. The loan includes a forced option to buy in the region of €3.5 million. That option will be automatically triggered once Vásquez plays his first competitive fixture for the Rossoblu.
Vásquez was part of the Mexican side that won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games. The defender made it 2-0 in Mexico‘s 3-1 victory over Japan in the game for third-place. Vásquez joined Pumas from Monterrey for €3.5 million at the start of 2020. The defender scored two goals in 49 games.
